Help conserve Buckinghamshire's beautiful countryside

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Council's Countryside and Heritage Service. Based at County Hall in Aylesbury, the post will play an important role delivering the Council's environmental objectives and contributing to the Local Biodiversity Action Plan.

Very much a ‘front line' job, you will provide practical advice, guidance and encouragement to others including voluntary groups, community groups, landowners, individuals in the promotion and implementation of biodiversity initiatives across the County. You will actively participate in the process of assessing and monitoring the condition of the County's habitats and species and will help develop and implement projects that support and promote their conservation.

Requiring a sound understanding of biodiversity action planning and practical knowledge and experience of habitat and species conservation, this is a challenging post that will suit persons educated to at least HND level in an appropriate subject and with at least 2 years relevant experience. Enthusiasm and the ability to communicate in the delivery of advice, guidance and support to the community are other key qualities. Experience of GIS and the Microsoft Office Family will be an advantage.
