Assistant
We are seeking a full-time temporary project assistant for a project at the Institute of Ecosystem Studies (IES) measuring gypsy moth dispersal, foraging by white-footed mice, and predation by mice on gypsy moths in Millbrook, New York. Period of employment will be from 1 June to late August 2004. Duties involve monitoring the locations of gypsy moth larvae, recording tracks of small mammals, and monitoring predation of gypsy moth pupae, as well as data entry and quality control. Field work will involve long days in rugged terrain. Applicant should be in good physical condition and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Familiarity with Excel and Access, and prior field experience are
advantageous. Summer housing can be rented on site but pets are not allowed in on-site housing. Position reports to Dr. Clive Jones.
