NERC Research Studentships

School of Biological and Environmental Sciences

Up to four NERC Research Studentships are available in the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences. Applications are invited from candidates who have an MSc/MRes degree and/or at least an Upper Second Class Honours degree in an appropriate subject. Applicants must satisfy NERC’s conditions for the award of a research studentship. The studentship has a value of c. £12,000 per annum. An additional £1000 p.a. may be paid from a collaborating body (CASE). All fees and research expenses are paid.


Potential projects and supervisors are:


The impact of waste disposal from late Medieval Burghs on local soils (CASE).

University Research Studentship


One University Research Studentship is available in the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, with support from Forest Research and Scottish Natural Heritage. Applications are invited from candidates who have an MSc/MRes degree and/or at least an Upper Second Class Honours degree in an appropriate subject. The studentship has a value of c. £12,000 per annum. All fees and research expenses are paid.
