Technical Advisors, Air Quality
Starting salary £24,600-£28,000 Cardiff
Cleaner air and greener industry are goals we all aspire to; our health depends on it. But to what extent is something only sound and up-to-date science can determine. Our Air Quality Modelling and Assessment Unit (AQMAU) was established to ensure that the practice of air quality modelling and assessment across the Agency is of a consistently high standard. The Unit also provides advice to Government departments, local authorities and industry and contributes to the national air quality policy consultation and implementation and national R&D programmes.
As part of AQMAU ? on a temporary basis until March 2006 - you will take on this R&D work and much more; helping at training events, carrying out complex modelling and preparing technical documents, all while providing support, guidance and advice to colleagues. Which means in-depth knowledge of air quality modelling, policy and legislation alone won?t quite cut it. You?ll need impressive academic credentials, ideally post-doctoral, and a real desire to improve the environment.
