Postdoctoral Position

A postdoctoral position to work on the purification and characterization of toxins and natural substances having biological activity isolated from marine organisms and microalgae is available immediately at the Unitat de Seguiment del Medi ("Environment Survey Unit"), Centre d'Aqüicultura, IRTA, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. Experience in the extraction, purification and characterization of natural substances: extractions, liquid / liquid partitions, chromatography, HPLC. Knowledge in marine biology and ecology. Independent research capacity and good organization skills. Capacity and motivation to maintain high technical standards and to define and obtain research objectives independently with little supervision. Immediate incorporation to research contracts dealing with oceanographic, toxicologic and monitoring issues on harmful algae and microalgal toxins.
