The Department of Microbiology requires a research assistant/research technician for proteomics research and the running of a new proteomics facility at Trinity College Dublin. The position is supported for one year in the first instance, with possible extension, and is funded by the Higher Education Authority under the Programme for Research in Third Level Institutes.

The candidate should have a degree or diploma in Biochemistry or a related discipline and, preferably, experience of biomolecular research and/or instrumentation. Experience of mass spectrometry would be an advantage, but is not essential as training will be provided to perform routine maintenance of the mass spectrometer and associated equipment.

The appointment will be made within the range of €20,000 to €30,000 per annum, according to qualifications and relevant experience, subject to the continued availability of funding. Trinity College Dublin is an equal opportunities employer.
