Due to growth in the Aquatic Ecology product area WSL/ECOWISE is seeking a well qualified and experienced freshwater aquatic biologist/ecologist to be based at our Melbourne office. The successful candidate will require either high level macroinvertebrate taxonomy skills OR extensive experience in managing and conducting aquatic ecology projects.
Candidates should make particular reference to their experience in relation to the following tasks:
* Aquatic macroinvertebrate taxonomy to species (or genus) level and/or
* Project design and management and scientific and technical report writing skills (including statistical analysis and interpretation of complex ecological data eg.univariates, multivariates, AusRivAS).
The person we are looking for will most probably have a minimum of an honours degree and 5 years relevant work experience. Experience working in a commercial consulting environment and experience in related disciplines (eg. environmental chemistry, fish ecology, hydrology, riparian or aquatic vegetation, etc) would also be highly regarded. This position is additional to that recently advertised for the Brisbane ECOWISE office.
