FIELD INTERNS/VOLUNTEERS (4)

needed to assist public use and wildlife management activities in southeastern Indiana. The interns will assist staff on Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge, which is overlaid on the closed Jefferson Proving Ground. Positions are available from 15 Aug thru Dec 2004; dates flexible for applicants enrolled in school. Duties include monitoring wildlife populations, measuring vegetation, data entry, habitat restoration, installing refuge signs, visitor check-in and general refuge maintenance. Successful applicants must be able to work well with others and endure inclement weather and rugged conditions. We need interns/volunteers who are dependable, enthusiastic, and maintain good humor while working early mornings or late evenings. The work could last 3 to 6 months and volunteer/interns would be provided housing and monthly subsistence (approximately $500). Please send a cover letter, resume, and list of references.
