The School of Ocean and Earth Science at the Southampton Oceanography Centre provides a stimulating interdisciplinary research environment spanning oceanography and marine biology, geology and earth system science. This academic position is available from 1 January 2005. We are seeking to appoint in the broad area of Marine Ecology with special interests in one or more of the following: molecular biology, statistical biology, experimental biology and benthic ecology.

You should have a growing international profile and ambitions to develop a vigorous innovative research programme to interact with and complement our existing programmes. The school has an active research group in biodiversity and ecosystem function with particular strengths in deep-sea and coastal marine ecology.

Current salary in the range £23,643 - £35,883 per annum on the Academic scale.
