Responsibilities: Bring live, non-releasable raptors to schools and community groups throughout Utah and neighboring states to educate people about raptors and their role in the environment. Interns receive training in presentation skills, program scheduling and lesson planning, and the care & handling of live raptors. Qualifications: BA/BS in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Education, or related field preferred. Strong commitment to wildlife conservation is essential. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative with positive attitude. Experience with teaching children, public outreach & raptor handling is helpful, but not required. Position Available: Salt Lake City, UT, Fall/Spring Internships - Five to ten months, beginning late Aug; Compensation: Volunteer stipend of $500 per month to cover living expenses. Shared housing provided in Salt Lake City. Mileage reimbursed for business use of personal vehicle.
