Based primarily in the School of Biological and Biomedical Sciences in Durham this three-year funded Muscular Dystrophy Campaign Project will examine the role of the ferlin proteins in cell membrane repair. The approaches used will require molecular and cell biology techniques and experience of cell culture, RNAi would be an advantage. The project will require extensive live cell confocal imaging and training in all aspects of fluorescence imaging will be offered. This will be performed in Prof. Michael Whitakers laboratory in Newcastle upon Tyne. Applications are encouraged from those with expertise in any of the mentioned areas.
