WILDLIFE AND HUMAN HEALTH INTERN

is needed in Manomet, Massachusetts starting Sep/Oct to assist with a project investigating low-level exposure to current-use pesticides in wildlife and humans. A commitment of 4 to 6 months desired @ 40 hr/wk. Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences’ Wildlife and Agriculture Program is working to characterize, from existing data and studies, the occurrence of low-level exposure to anti-cholinesterase chemicals in humans and wildlife and investigate epidemiological parallels between humans and wildlife. Intern duties will include performing literature searches, obtaining references, mining journal articles and databases, maintaining databases, assisting with the synthesis and interpretation of the scientific information, and writing literature for publication. Intern will also have opportunity to aid in other bird-related projects. Qualifications: Degree in biology, wildlife/ conservation management or equivalent. Excellent writing and reading skills, knowledge of Word, Excel required; knowledge of Access desired. This project offers an opportunity to learn a great deal about contaminants and their impact on wildlife and humans. Housing on beautiful Cape Cod Bay and a stipend of $100/wk provided.
