Director of Conservation

Organisation Cetacea (ORCA) is a young and growing UK-based charity dedicated to the conservation of whales, dolphins and the marine environment. We need a director of conservation who can develop the organisation by increasing membership and generating income, especially through funding streams.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Aggressively seek funding for administration and project work.
- Promote and raise awareness of the work of ORCA externally, by building partnerships.
- Act as an advocate to enable ORCA to make its expertise widely available and to develop its reputation and influence. Key skills: Computer literacy, proven ability at securing funding, highly self motivated, good communicator in the written and spoken word, enthusiasm for conservation in general and marine conservation specifically.
Salary £15,000. Pay and hours will depend on the expertise and ability of the chosen candidate.
This position is for 12 months only, but with the possibility of extending and expanding in the future.
