Department of Biology, Case Western Reserve University
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in theoretical ecology. The postdoc will help to mathematically explore species coexistence mechanisms that arise from spatiotemporal environmental variation at multiple scales, how the scales of biological processes such as dispersal and competition affect the strengths of these mechanisms, and the expected consequences.
Strong mathematical skills are essential. Previous experience in ecology is desirable but not critical. Recipients of PhD's in physics and applied mathematics are welcome in addition to those with biology PhD's.
The position is for two years, beginning between 1/1/05 and 6/1/05, with salary ranging from $35,000 to $40,000, dependent upon the length of any previous postdoctoral experience. Fringe benefits and annual cost of living increases are also included.
Case Western Reserve is an equal opportunity employer, and applications from women and minorities are encouraged.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Robin Snyder, phone: +1 216-368-8838, e-mail: res29@case.edu, web:http://environment.biol.cwru.edu/~snyderre/
