MSc Program in Shellfish Pathology
The Department of Pathology and Microbiology, Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), University of Prince Edward Island, is offering a 2-year graduate program in pathology of aquatic invertebrates - specifically bivalve molluscs. The program will consist of training and completion of a thesis Master of Science degree. The research subject will be ‘Pathogeny of haemic neoplasia in soft-shell clam Mya arenaria’. The graduate program will strengthen research skills and critical thinking and provide limited diagnostic training in bivalve molluscs.
Applicants must possess a BSc or an equivalent qualification. Previous experience with aquatic species is desirable but not required. Applications will be accepted until November 1rst 2004. Concurrent application for admission to the AVC graduate program is suggested, as successful admission is required for appointment.
