Field Naturalist Program

The Field Naturalist Program at the University of Vermont is pleased to announce an open house for prospective graduate students on Friday, January 28, 2005 (12:30 4:30 PM). The Field Naturalist Program stands alone in graduate-level science training for environmental professionals. The two-year program's non-thesis curriculum develops the potential of tomorrow's conservation leaders by emphasizing scientific integration, oral and written communication, and environmental problem solving.
This year¹s open house will take place on the UVM campus in the Marsh Life Science Building (Room 122) and will provide prospective students with the opportunity to meet individually with program faculty and to interact with current students. Review of applications for admission to the class of 2007 (the 23rd team of Field Naturalists) will begin on February 15, 2005. Each entering class is limited to four mature, motivated individuals with:
€ a passionate and sustained interest in the environment
€ a clear vision of future goals
€ a track record of academic and professional achievements in
science or an environmental field
€ excellent letters of recommendation
€ strong Graduate Record Examination scores
We¹re looking for intelligent, enthusiastic, and passionate environmentalists with some professional or field experience to join the Field Naturalist Program this fall.
