Time and money: Start between 9 May and 6 June (TBA / negotiable); continue full-time until at least 19 August. Ability to work full- or part-time in the fall preferred, but not required. $8.65 / hr.
Research summary: Research experience and completion of an introductory ecology class preferred, but not required. These positions will involve a mixture of field and laboratory work. Ability to work outdoors in sometimes uncomfortable conditions is essential. Assistants will learn basic field ecology techniques and laboratory procedures. Work in the Environmental Disease Ecology research group focuses on the role of plant pathogens in *controlling or facilitating biological invasions by plants, *modulating the effects of global change on terrestrial ecosystems, and *structuring plant communities. We work on both viruses and fungi that infect wild plants, chiefly grasses and other herbaceous species.
