It is time to cast your vote to determine the theme of the Meeting of Young
Researchers in Earth Sciences (MYRES) for 2008.
MYRES is a biannual, 4-day meeting planned for and hosted by younger members
of the international earth sciences community. Meetings consist of field
trips, comprehensive tutorials and focused discussions surrounding
interdisciplinary research themes. The meeting theme is chosen by an open
voting process.
As young researchers at the National Center for Earth- Surface Dynamics we
propose the next theme be "The Dynamic Interactions of Life and It's
Landscape". This integrative theme represents an innovative direction in
earth-surface research that acknowledges potential two-way interactions
between landscape and its inhabitants across multiple scales. This
integrative theme represents an innovative direction in Earth-surface
research that has direct bearing on pressing environmental management issues.
Please visit our website (http://www.safl.umn.edu/myres08/) to learn more
about MYRES, our proposal and most importantly to place your vote!
Voting closes on July 14th.
Thank you,
