Postdoc in Cancer

A postdoc position is available at the Division of Tumor Cell Biology, University Hospital of Surgery Heidelberg.
The project is concerned with the role of CD44 variant isoform as a pancreatic cancer stem cell biomarker with a general emphasis on the contribution of cancer stem cell markers to stem cell biology. This includes the role of exosomal miRNA in the crosstalk with the host. We are searching for a cell biologist with basic knowledge in molecular biology and experience in animal work. The position is currently available for 15 months with a possibility of prolongation. The position is available immediately and we are interested in starting at earliest convenience which would facilitate handing over from the postdoc currently engaged in the project.
The department has great experience in the field of tumor metastasis, particularly with CD44 variant isoforms as metastasis promoting gene as well as with tetraspanins and their importance in exosomes. We are a dynamic, very friendly and helpful team, where it is easy to integrate also offering a chance to further improve your skills. Fluent English is required as it is the preferred language in the lab.

Please submit your application including CV, contact information of two references and a cover letter stating research and career interest. More detailed information can be found in NRC 9:49, 2009; 11:254, 2011 and on our website or contact:
