We are seeking doctoral candidates for research on the behavioural
analysis of neurological and psychiatric dysfunction in mice. This
will take place at the newly established Berlin Mouse Clinic for
Neurology and Psychiatry (BMC) at the NeuroCure Center of Excellence
at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin and Humboldt University, Berlin,
Germany. The BMC (www.berlinmouseclinic.org) provides behaviour
analysis expertise and service for the basic research and
translational medicine projects conducted by the NeuroCure PI
research groups (www.neurocure.de). The doctoral research project
will be on one of the following topics:
automated measurement of executive control in rodent models of
schizophrenia (
see http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.
development of neuropsychiatric dysfunction of socially living mice
using automated video-analysis, behavioural assessment of
mild-cognitive impairment in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease
through automated operant conditioning, behavioural assessment of
treatment outcome in mouse models of stroke. Successful candidates
should have a background in the study of animal behaviour. As an
additional qualification a background in statistics or computer
programming will be helpful. Positions can start from February 2013
