The main focus of the lab is to understand the mechanisms of hormonal regulation of liver and adipose tissue metabolism. We are especially interested in unravelling hormonally induced signaling events regulating adaptation of these two organs to feeding and fasting and their implications in development of metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes.
Ambitious projects are available to investigate the impact of hormonally evoked signaling cascades on different aspects of metabolism using genetic, biochemical and high-throughput screening approaches.
The Rudolf Virchow Center is one of the best German basic research institutes focused on understanding biological mechanisms at the molecular, cellular and organism level and offers state-of-the-art research facilities and a vibrant, international scientific community.
The positions are initially funded for a limited period of time. Salary will be according to the collective agreement (TV-L). Disabled applicants will be preferentially considered in case of equivalent qualifications.
