The research focus is signal transduction in cancer and inflammation.
In particular, we are interested in the elucidation of
- molecular mechanisms of cytokine signal transduction mediated by
Janus kinases and STAT transcription factors; (patho)physiologic
consequences of Jak/STAT signaling and cross-talk with other
signalling pathways (e. g. hypoxia),
- the role of microRNAs in cancer development and growth
regulation; microRNAs as biomarkers.
Your Role
The successful candidate will perform research related to the
topics of the Signal Transduction Laboratory; possible collaborations
e. g. with the Luxembourg Centre of Systems Biomedicine and clinical
partners.
He/she will also contribute to the FNR-funded project “HepmiRSTAT:
Inflammatory microRNAs in liver cancer”.

Master in Integrated Systems Biology / Doctoral School of Molecular
and Systems Biomedicine.
Submission of grant proposals and (co-)supervision of Master and
PhD students will be encouraged.
