Applications are invited for the position of full time Post-doctral Research Fellow within the School of Psychology and Neuroscience, to work with Dr Karen Spencer and Dr Sue Healy (School of Biology) on a BBSRC funded project entitled “Cognitive decline during ageing: understanding the roles of developmental and adult stress”. The post holder will be responsible for organizing and carrying out a range of techniques, including behavioural tests (e.g. spatial memory and novel environment exploration), collecting biological samples and molecular assays of neuroendocrine activity (e.g. qPCR). This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing research group and to undertake high quality research at an internationally-renowned institution.
You will have a PhD in a relevant area, have extensive experience of molecular and/or physiological techniques and have experience of working with birds. This position also requires excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
The position has funding for 10 months, starting 1 March 2016, or as soon as possible thereafter.
