The research group Molecular Hemostasis at the Heinrich Heine University Medical Center of Duesseldorf invites applicants for a PhD student position.
We are looking for an accomplished, highly motivated and career oriented young scientist, preferably with a strong interest in cell/molecular biology and biomedical research. Applicants should hold a Diploma / Master Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Medicine or a related discipline.
In the DFG funded project (SFB 1116, TP A05) we intend to study the impact of phospholipase D 2 (PLD2) as a modulator of inflammation, cell survival and organ repair after acute myocardial infarction. The study includes different in vitro experiments and verification in a mouse model of acute myocardial infarction (LAD ligation). After an initial period of training, the PhD candidate should work independently and self-motivated and should participate in the integrated Research Training Group (RTG1116) of the SFB 1116 (http://www.sfb1116. hhu.de/de.html)that offers a structured doctoral program for highly motivated PhD students with an excellent research environment, a comprehensive curriculum and a broad supervision and mentoring network educating natural scientists in the field of cardiovascular biology. Specific seminars as well as an individualized curriculum comprising lectures, lab and soft-skill courses, congresses, and symposia are offered to PhD students. Thus you will join a cooperative and stimulatory working atmosphere with excellent scientific equipment.
Handicapped applicants will be preferentially considered in case of equivalent qualification. Salary according to TV-L.
