We are recruiting a Conservation Scientist to lead on the delivery of RSPB's curlew research. The Eurasian curlew is considered the UK's highest conservation priority bird species and is the focus of a major Curlew Recovery Programme led by the RSPB. A key element of this is a large-scale research project testing the response of breeding curlew to trial management interventions across the UK. Responsibilities of the post holder will include contributing to the delivery of fieldwork, recruiting and managing a team of field staff, conducting data analyses, advising on the delivery of habitat management and predator control interventions, liaising with a wide range of colleagues across the UK, writing up the project and publishing outputs from this project and other wader datasets in peer-reviewed journals. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, well organised, a good communicator and have a proven track record of publishing scientific papers. Salary
£25,463 to £27,585 per annum Hours & contract information
Hours: Full time, Full Time
Contract: Fixed Term contract to 31 March 2020
