Field Ecologists (To Start Immediately & Spring 2018)
Aspect Ecology specialises in providing ecological consultancy services to a well-established base of high profile clients in both the public and private sectors. Please see our website for more details: www.aspect-ecology.com.
We have upcoming opportunities for enthusiastic and capable graduates to assist with ecological surveys and translocations, centered on Great Crested Newts, bats and reptiles. Previous experience of conducting surveys for protected species is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified graduate or an undergraduate to obtain valuable field skills.
We have immediate opportunities to assist with surveys and / or translocations through Autumn 2017 and opportunities will be available starting Spring 2018, with surveys continuing until September / October 2018, although there may also be short term opportunities available for fixed term translocations. You will be required to work up to five days per week, with opportunities for weekend work as well. Opportunities may also be available to assist with surveys for a variety of other species such as Badger, Water Voles, Dormice and Otters.
Much of our survey work is located in central and south east England so a base close to our office in Banbury, or in Kent, Surrey or Sussex would be particularly useful.
Essential:
Flexible and enthusiastic approach;
Willingness to work 'ecological hours' and to travel;
Available to start immediately / imminently or Spring 2018;
Full driving licence and own car;
Confidence to work with reptiles and amphibians.
Wages are paid at an hourly rate and dependent on experience. B&B accommodation will be provided where required and business mileage/subsistence reimbursed.
To apply, please download and complete the short application form and submit it together with your CV and covering letter to: recruitment@aspect-ecology.com
