The Fudickar lab at Indiana University (www.mechanismsofmovement.com) seeks to hire a Research Associate to help manage/lead a study on the impact of artificial light on the occurrence and movements of birds as well as the impact of artificial light on the timing of seasonal traits (e.g. reproduction and migration). In particular, the candidate will help establish a demographic study, monitor and track animals, and quantify seasonal phenology and related physiological traits. Candidates with both field and lab experience are preferred. Most research will be conducted in Bloomington Indiana.
Must have an MS (minimum) in a biology-related field and experience in the field working with birds. The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills relevant to the project described above. Candidates with exceptional qualifications will have the opportunity to develop independent projects related to the overall project goals. The position is for 20 months depending on start date (preferred February 1, 2018), but potentially longer if funding becomes available.
