Seasonal positions (3-6 months) are available at the USGS Kansas Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit within the Division of Biology at Kansas State University. As a part of a collaborative conservation and research effort, we are seeking skilled individuals to assist with Lesser Prairie-Chicken translocation in western Kansas and eastern Colorado. We would prefer applicants who have experience with trapping and handling prairie grouse, vhf radio-telemetry, data entry, identification of plant species, and collecting vegetation data on public and private land. Duties will consist of 60% field data collection, 30% electronic data entry, and 10% equipment maintenance.
B.S. in Natural Resources, Biology, or equivalent field is preferred, but not required. We offer a competitive salary and housing, and support training opportunities for field and lab techniques.
