Young Scientist Centre Assistant - 10 month placement

A fantastic 10 month year in industry (YINI) placement working in our L’Oréal Young Scientist Centre to deliver workshops to children and young people which ignite a passion for scientific discovery.


The Ri is looking for a school leaver with science A-levels who wants to take a break between school and university, tojoin us as an assistant in the laboratory, where we deliver a variety of STEM workshops to groups of school age students. We are looking for someone with a passion for science education and an enthusiasm for enriching the experimental experience of young people.


Job Title: L’Oréal Young Scientist Centre Assistant

Accountable to: LYSC Technical Supervisor

Location: 21 Albemarle Street, London

Contract type: 10 months fixed term contract from July/August 2019 full time, 35 hours per week

Salary: Circa £19,000 per annum


The role: The successful applicant, will initially focus on technical and administrative assistance to the LYSC team, but as the role progresses, will be encouraged to get more involved in workshop development and delivery and will have the opportunity to get involved in the Ri’s wider science communication programmes, including the family, schools and public programmes as well as the CHRISTMAS LECTURES.
