This year we are asking researchers from all disciplines to share their greatest failures, whether personal or professional, in an attempt to nudge people towards framing failure less negatively and embracing it as an important and necessary step towards research progress.

We have some amazing judges lined up (and me!), including the world’s best CEO, an Olympic gold medalist, the brains behind the amazing Errant Science, and other multimedia wizards.
The overall winner will receive a one year subscription to Dimensions Analytics (a research tool with added analytical functionality allowing you to view any research in its wider context - great for telling human stories about research), plus a science communication mentoring session and some of our cool ‘I Heart Science’ merchandise, and your work will be shared on our website in the lead-up to the International Day of Failure on 13th October. Up to five runners up will also have their entries showcased and will also win a swag bag.
