ZEB1 and ZEB2 are key regulators of stemness, cell differentiation, and tumor initiation and progression in carcinomas but their role in normal hematopoiesis and in leukemias or lymphomas remains poorly known. The successful candidate will work in one of the hottest areas in molecular oncology, investigating the role of ZEB1 and ZEB2 in a number of timely cancer topics (tumor microenvironment crosstalk, metabolic reprogramming, cancer stem cells).
The project will make use a wide array of in vitro and in vivo approaches including unique transgenic mouse models and high throughput techniques (RNAseq, ChIPseq, metabolomics). The post-holder will also participate in other projects currently under way in the lab.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Requirements
★ PhD degree in Biology or related bio- medical discipline obtained not earlier than January 2014.
★ Strong publication record with at least 2-3 first-author articles in Decile 1 journals with high impact factor
★ Solid background in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
Desirable Experience
Although NOT required, candidates will receive higher consideration if they have previous experience in:
★ Molecular Oncology, mouse models of cancer, gene expression profiling, or transcriptional regulation.
★ Postdoctoral stays outside Spain
CONDITIONS
The selected candidate will apply to competitive postdoc calls in Spain/ Europe.
For candidates with a strong CV, it will be possible to pay his/her salary until the results of the postdoctoral fellowship are announced. Salary will be commensurate with experience and publication record.
