Tannas Conservation Services Ltd. is looking for an Intermediate Level Ecologist specializing in Reclamation Vegetation, with opportunities to work with Wetlands, and Biophysical Inventories. The position will be based out of Calgary, but depending on the person, we may be open to other locations.

Duties: Project management, technical writing, reclamation management, soils assessments, vegetation DSA’s and technical writing. The position will allow be multi-disciplinary and may also include work such as, compiling BIAs, Wetland Assessment and Impact Reports (WAIRs), and other technical reports, as well as field work & coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. In addition, strong technical skills in at least one of the following are required: Soils, Land Reclamation, Wetlands, Vegetation, Rare Plants
Skills in the following an asset: BIAs/EIAs, Regulatory Approvals, Phase 1 Assessments, Range Management, Wildlife, GIS, Project Management

Skills will be evaluated at the interview stage. This is a job for someone who enjoys multi-disciplinary work.

Requirements:
Must be a Canadian citizen or eligible to work in Canada
Must have at least 5 years of professional experience
Must have valid class 5 driver’s license and own a vehicle
Must be located in the Calgary area (alternatively Edmonton).
Must be a Professional Biologist, Agrologist, or Forester
Must have strong technical writing skills
Must have intermediate plant taxonomy skills,
Must have experience writing regulatory reports such as BIAs, EIAs, DSAs, etc.
Must have experience organizing multi-disciplinary teams
Must have experience using maps and handheld GPS units
Must be comfortable and competent working independently
Must be organized and self-driven
Although not primarily a field position preference will be given to those who have strong field skills and are willing to work in the field.

Duration: Full Time Position

Office: Remote office (home office)

Salary: Negotiable Depending on Skill
