Overseas Team Leaders
£100 (daily overseas rate) Temporary contract, 25/26 January – 10 February

Following the success of the Abu Dhabi Science Festivals from 2011–2019, we are recruiting Team Leaders to take part in this exciting project and contribute to the Abu Dhabi Science Festival 2020.

As part of this team you will be delivering the workshops and activities that make up the Festival’s family programme. You will also train, mentor and support teams of volunteer Science Communicators in facilitating the workshops and activities throughout the Festival.

About you:

You will have confident communication skills, a passion for presenting and be a quick learner, comfortable with scientific information. You will have an outgoing, friendly approach and enjoy working with children age 4-15 and their families. Experience in Science Communication is essential, and supervisory or team management experience in a festival or art setting is highly desirable. A background in theatre or performing arts would also be beneficial and a flexible, energetic approach to managing small teams is key.

Key Dates

You will be required to be available from 25/26 January – 10 February 2020 (depending on your location and event). It is essential you are fully available for all of these dates to be considered. You will also be required to be available for the mandatory Team Leader Training and Induction Day on Saturday 11 January 2020; and you will also be required to attend a days’ event-specific training in Edinburgh 1 – 20 December.

Days on-site will be paid at £100 per day. Travel days will be paid at £75 per day and training days in the UK will be paid at £63 per day pro rata.
