Position of a Laboratory Technician at the Research Dept. for Limnology, Mondsee, Austria
We are offering a full-time position of a Laboratory Technician within the project Functional Diversity of Planktonic Ciliates, funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). This project investigates the taxonomic and, in particular, functional diversity of ciliates in freshwater and the ocean. We will perform several sampling campaigns on Austrian and British lakes and use an experimental approach in the laboratory to investigate ciliate responses to food and temperature.
The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing the field campaigns, perform nutrient and zooplankton analyses, stain the ciliate samples with protargol, cultivate the ciliate species for the experimental and molecular work and to assist in the experimental and molecular analyses within this project.
Employment will start as soon as possible and last until September, 2022; prolongation may be possible. Salary level is based upon previous experience and according to FWF project standards (see https://www.fwf.ac.at/en/research-funding/personnel-costs/).
