COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER (50%)
Description
Do you have a passion for science and love to communicate science to non-experts in a creative and engaging way? If yes, you may be interested in our open position at the FMI. In this exciting role, you will support the Head of Communications in internal and external communications. You will manage the FMI social media channels, and develop compelling content that promotes the FMI science excellence.
Main responsibilities
Create engaging stories about our research and life at the FMI.
Manage and monitor the FMI social media channels. Continue to develop the FMI social media strategy.
Design banners, posters, flyers. Produce multimedia content such as videos and podcasts. Take photos.
Publish weekly internal online newsletter.
Profile
A passion for science and an ability to communicate complex concepts in a straightforward and impactful way.
Proficiency in English with excellent writing skills, command of German a plus.
A degree in science with additional training in science communication or science journalism.
2-5 years communications experience, ideally in an academic research environment.
Strong digital skills with experience and passion for social media.
Strong graphic design skills; proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
Experience with video recording and production.
Creative, proactive, independent, hands-on.
Social and outgoing personality.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and to meet tight deadlines.
