The Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the UAE University invites applications for a postdoctoral position, focusing on genome evolution and adaptation of desert plants to abiotic stress to begin as soon as possible. We are looking for a motivated researcher, where the bulk of his/her work will focus on bioinformatic analyses of data generated in the Center. He/She will conduct and develop research using the full range of genomic and bioinformatics tools, build workflow pipeline to address relevant scientific questions. The post holder will be a member of the Genomics and Bioinformatics platform group with responsibility for carrying out and publishing research within the designated research theme.
The ideal candidate will: be a productive researcher with interests in both Diversity, Genetic Variation, Population Genomics, Transcriptomics and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should have interest in collaborating with graduate and undergraduate students in the Center.
Minimum Qualification
PhD degree in either of these majors, Statistical Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics, with minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.
Preferred Qualification
PhD degree in Genomics/bioinformatic and related field.
Salary
The Center will offer a competitive package, and all depends on the candidate's experience. Health insurance, housing as well as travel tickets home will be provided.
