A Technical Assistant position is available within a 6-yrs FWF START project on eco-evolutionary dynamics and admixture led by Markus Moest at the University of Innsbruck. We investigate admixture in an aquatic keystone grazer and study the consequences of admixture on eco-evolutionary dynamics in the context of global change on the population, species, community, and ecosystem level. The position is funded for 3+3 yrs at 50% employment with the possibilities of full and/or extended employment.
***Your responsibilities***
The TA will be involved in a large field campaign collecting plankton and sediment cores in peri-Alpine lakes and will be responsible for maintaining Daphnia and algae cultures. Moreover, the TA will help with phenotyping assays, molecular lab and mesocosm experiments, which will be set up at the University's Research Institute for Limnology (ILIM) in Mondsee.

(i) molecular lab work (DNA extractions, PCRs, library prep,.)(ii) cultivation of animals and/or microorganisms(iii) lab management.
The work with an international and diverse team and several international collaborators will require some English skills.
