Field Guide
The Field Guide provides a professional and interpretive safari experience and service to residents and guests ensuring the highest level of responsiveness, care and attention to individual needs and expectations. The Field Guide takes responsibility for conducting a smooth and efficient Safari experience for the guests’ duration of stay as their primary operational responsibility

▪ Ability to recognise safety or security concerns
Academic Qualifications and Background
▪ Apprentice Field Guide (Level 1)
▪ Field Guide (Level 2)
▪ Valid Drivers and PDP license
▪ Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
▪ Valid First Aid Certificate
Work Experience
▪ 2 Years of previous experience in Safari operations of a luxury 5-Star
Lodge
Job technical Skills
▪ Competent in operation of different types of transport vehicles,
electronic/digital communication systems and equipment
▪ Competent in operation of rifle equipment
▪ Knowledge of various Lodge service offerings
▪ Ability to follow set standards of performance as expected by the
organisation and the local legislation
▪ Able to use Microsoft Office applications at a basic level
▪ Competent in applying basic to intermediate technical knowledge of
vehicle maintenance and repair
▪ Ability to accurately read a map, follow directions, or programme and follow
directions from a GPS system
