O programa de voluntariado do Centro Nacional de Reprodução de Lince Ibérico (CNRLI), em Silves, encontra-se novamente aberto e contempla quatro (4) vagas para uma posição de voluntariado integrada na equipa de etologia e videovigilância do CNRLI, com a duração mínima de 3 meses, referente ao período de novembro a janeiro.
O voluntariado decorre na área de Etologia e Comportamento Animal e todos os voluntários terão formação neste campo, adaptado ao funcionamento e animais do CNRLI. Procuramos pessoas motivadas e, idealmente, com formação nas áreas de ciências naturais, interessadas em trabalhar voluntariamente no CNRLI nesta interessante fase de iniciação da época de cria.
Durante o referido período serão feitas as preparações para união de casais reprodutivos, seguimento dos pares, deteção de cios e avaliação de cópulas. Simultaneamente, realiza-se o seguimento e registo de dados do Treino de Reintrodução das crias da época reprodutiva anterior, essencial à preparação da sua libertação no meio selvagem.

Four volunteer vacancies available at the Iberian Lynx National Breeding Centre (CNRLI)
From November until January 2022/2023
The Iberian Lynx National Breeding Centre (CNRLI) Volunteer Programme has four (4) open vacancies for the beginning of November of this year, with the duration of 3 months (until end of January). The Centre is located in Silves, Portugal, and the volunteers will integrate the ethology and video surveillance team of the CNRLI. The volunteering occurs within the field of Ethology and Animal Behaviour and all the volunteers will have specialized training and lectures on this subject.
We are seeking motivated people with a background in the Natural Sciences field and high interest in volunteering at CNRLI during this period of the beginning of a new whole breeding season. During this phase, specialized techniques will be used to prepare the social introduction of breeding pairs, follow their interactions, detect estrus behaviour, record and evaluate mating. At the same time, we’ll follow, record and evaluate hunting techniques and evasion behaviour included in the Protocol of Reintroduction Training, in order to prepare the cubs from the previous breeding season for their reintroduction in the wild.
Housing will be provided (for free) and volunteers will have the possibility of receiving a food stipend of 4,27 € for each worked day.
