About Rewilding Europe
Rewilding Europe is at the forefront of large-scale nature recovery across 10 (soon to be 15) landscapes across Europe. Our mission is to make Europe a wilder place. We have set ambitious targets for demonstrating large-scale rewilding on the ground. From these showcases, we aim to scale up rewilding all over Europe. With a fantastic and diverse team of experts and passionate colleagues from all over Europe (34 fte in the Central Team and around 100 fte in our Landscape Teams), we are committed to driving the rewilding movement forward.
Role
We are seeking a Communications Manager with a focus on visual storytelling to document and highlight Rewilding Europe's field efforts and impact, ensuring our visual stories engage and inspire key audiences across various platforms. This important role emphasises storytelling through multimedia formats - such as video, photography, and other visual content - and the development of a network of talented external content creators to support this.
Positioning in the organisation
Reports to the Director Engagement and Public Relations. Collaborates closely with the other Communications Managers and other members of our European Engagement team.
Main responsibilities
• Visual storytelling and content creation: Develop compelling visual narratives, including (short) films, animations, and photographic stories, to highlight the impact of Rewilding Europe's efforts in the field. Ensure visual content effectively tells the story of rewilding and engages key audiences, while conforming to the highest quality standards. • Documentation and content capture: Coordinate and manage the documentation of key field actions. Oversee photo and video missions, including the contracting, briefing, and management of external content creators, to capture impactful visuals. • Network and contract management: Build and maintain relationships with photographers, videographers, producers, editors, and other content producers. Manage contracts, briefing and oversight of deliverables to ensure the supply of high-quality content that aligns with Rewilding Europe's storytelling objectives. • Content library management: Organise and maintain Rewilding Europe’s image and footage databank, ensuring easy access and proper use by all stakeholders. • Collaboration with communications team: Work closely with the Engagement team including other Communications Managers to develop strategic visual content that supports Rewilding Europe’s messaging and outreach.
Key qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (communications, visual storytelling, design, etc.); • At least 5 years of experience in content creation, storytelling, video productions, or related communications skills; • Proven experience in delivering well-performing (visual) content for a wide variety of applications with measurable outcomes • Proven expertise in using digital tools to maximise engagement; • Knowledge of (online) video and visual design trends; • Skilled in video production, visual content creation , photo editing and knowledge of graphic design tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and/or similar. • Full proficiency in English (read, written, and spoken) is required.

• Rewilding Europe is a professional and dynamic organisation with a friendly working culture. We offer competitive salaries, reflecting your background, expertise, level of experience, and country of residence.
• The position is graded in salary scale 8 with the salary structure of Rewilding Europe ranging from scale 4 to scale 11.
