IUCN, established in 1948, is the world's largest environmental network, comprising over 1,400 members, including states, government agencies, NGOs, and affiliates, and more than 18,000 scientists and experts globally. IUCN’s mission is to influence and assist societies to conserve nature’s integrity and diversity, ensuring that natural resource use is equitable and ecologically sustainable.

The Mubadarat initiative, led by IUCN’s Mediterranean Centre, supports CSOs with technical and financial assistance to foster sustainable livelihoods and conservation across the region. Through programs like PPI OSCAN and TransCap, the initiative provides critical resources and knowledge to North African CSOs, promoting sustainable development across the Mediterranean.
