Location: Flexible within UK Organization: RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

About the Role: The UK Overseas Territories contain globally significant environments, from peatlands and seabird colonies to mangrove swamps, hosting numerous endemic species. This leadership position involves driving an ambitious terrestrial and marine conservation programme across these territories.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dedicated team working with territory communities, civil society organizations, and governments
  • Oversee conservation programmes in Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific territories
  • Build capacity with territory partners
  • Lead project development for island restoration and species recovery
  • Advocate for protective policies
  • Develop and showcase nature-based solutions for wildlife, climate and people

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of UKOTs nature conservation issues and solutions
  • Proven track record in building successful partnerships
  • Leadership and people management experience
  • Capacity building experience with partner organizations
  • Complex project management expertise
  • Experience in practical restoration and policy advocacy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel worldwide
  • Relevant degree
