LOCATION: Salt Lake City, UT or Golden, CO ORGANIZATION: ERG (formerly PG Environmental) TYPE: Full-time seasonal (Feb/Mar/Apr - Aug/Sep 2025)
ROLE OVERVIEW: Field-based position supporting BLM's Terrestrial Assessment, Inventory & Monitoring (AIM) program. 8 days on/6 days off schedule with remote camping required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Vegetation species identification and cover assessment
- Soil stability evaluation and profile description
- Data collection using tablets
- Sage grouse habitat assessment
For Crew Leads:
- Route planning and logistics
- Team management (3-person crews)
- Equipment oversight
- BLM office coordination
REQUIRED:
- BS in natural sciences (or in progress)
- Field experience in adverse conditions
- Remote camping capability
- Valid US driver's license
- Strong communication skills
- Physical capacity: 6 miles/day walking, 40lbs lifting
PREFERRED:
- Degree in ecology/botany/related field
- Plant identification experience
- Utah/Wyoming flora knowledge
- Soil analysis experience
- Tablet data collection skills
- UTV/trailer experience (highlight if applicable)
COMPENSATION:
- Crew Leads: $24/hour
- Technicians: $21/hour
- Overtime (1.5x)
- Per diem: $45/day
- Camping allowance: $15/night

Monthly estimate: $4,740 (Leads), $3,990 (Technicians) before overtime
