Scientific Coordinator – GINGR (Berlin, Germany)
Job title: Scientific Coordinator
Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role in Berlin, Germany, where the primary responsibility will be aligning the work of GINGR’s technical working groups and leading the development of a framework that quantifies contributions to Nature- and People-Positive renewable energy infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with metrics and quantitative assessments, a strong background in stakeholder collaboration, and a passion for advancing sustainable solutions in the energy sector.

Task Includes:

Leading the development of a scientifically sound and operational framework for assessing biodiversity gains and community benefits in renewable energy projects.

Supporting the creation of scientific literature and synthesizing relevant research outputs for GINGR.

Aligning and coordinating the activities of GINGR’s Technical Working Groups.

Facilitating collaboration with scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society representatives.

Supporting the development and application of metrics to assess environmental and social impacts.

Contributing to publications, reports, webinars, and presentations for global outreach.
Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Energy Systems, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience; OR a Ph.D. with at least 3 years of experience.

Proven ability to analyze, synthesize, and write scientific literature for peer-reviewed processes.

Experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects or working groups.

Understanding of the intersection between renewable energy, biodiversity, and social equity.

Ability to translate scientific concepts into practical applications for industry and policymakers.

Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-evolving field.
