Scientific Coordinator – GINGR (Berlin, Germany)

Job title: Scientific Coordinator

Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role in Berlin, Germany, where the primary responsibility will be aligning the work of GINGR’s technical working groups and leading the development of a framework that quantifies contributions to Nature- and People-Positive renewable energy infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with metrics and quantitative assessments, a strong background in stakeholder collaboration, and a passion for advancing sustainable solutions in the energy sector.

Task Includes:

  • Leading the development of a scientifically sound and operational framework for assessing biodiversity gains and community benefits in renewable energy projects.

  • Supporting the creation of scientific literature and synthesizing relevant research outputs for GINGR.

  • Aligning and coordinating the activities of GINGR’s Technical Working Groups.

  • Facilitating collaboration with scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society representatives.

  • Supporting the development and application of metrics to assess environmental and social impacts.

  • Contributing to publications, reports, webinars, and presentations for global outreach.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Energy Systems, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience; OR a Ph.D. with at least 3 years of experience.

  • Proven ability to analyze, synthesize, and write scientific literature for peer-reviewed processes.

  • Experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects or working groups.

  • Understanding of the intersection between renewable energy, biodiversity, and social equity.

  • Ability to translate scientific concepts into practical applications for industry and policymakers.

  • Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-evolving field.
