Job Opening: Marine Biologist
We are looking for a passionate Marine Biologist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone eager to contribute to marine conservation while engaging with guests and leading impactful environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities
As a Marine Biologist, your role will involve:

Educational Programs: Conducting marine and island-life biology programs for guests and staff, enhancing awareness of the unique ecosystem of the Maldives.

Snorkeling & Diving: Leading snorkeling and diving excursions while educating guests about marine life and ecosystems.

Research: Monitoring coral reefs, marine biodiversity, and environmental changes in collaboration with conservation groups.

Conservation Projects: Organizing and implementing coral restoration and marine life protection initiatives.

Sustainability Support: Offering consultancy on sustainability, assisting with eco-certifications, and ensuring the resort’s EarthCheck compliance.

Educational Materials: Designing posters, presentations, and materials to raise awareness on marine conservation.

Collaboration: Working with resort teams to incorporate sustainability into operations and participating in outreach programs with local communities.
Qualifications & Requirements
To excel in this role, you must have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Biology (preferably with a focus on marine biology, zoology, or ecology).

At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a resort or hotel.

Strong snorkeling and scuba diving skills. PADI certification is a plus.

In-depth knowledge of marine ecosystems and conservation practices.

Experience in data collection, monitoring, and reporting on marine projects.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and material creation.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent problem-solving skills.

Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication abilities.

A genuine passion for marine conservation and the ability to inspire and educate guests.

Experience with EarthCheck and other sustainability initiatives is a plus.
